~ Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. ~
The year is winding down rather quickly and you’re probably saying, Okay Lord, What do I do next? Worrying is like going outside in the rain with no umbrella or hat. Worrying doesn’t take away tomorrow’s troubles, it takes away today’s peace. I’m sure you may have heard this story before but remember in the Bible when Moses was looking for richer pasture for Jethro’s flock. Something caught Moses’ eye. It was the burning bush. Moses is now standing on sacred ground and so he has a conversation with God by asking, “Who should I say sent me?” and God simply answered Moses by saying, “I AM”.
Guess what, Moses was afraid just like we are sometimes. God is saying to us, I am with you in this very moment and wherever else you need me to be, I AM there also and even when we don’t think that he is there, guess what, He is! When we focus on the concerns about our next or what our future holds, we give way for fear to enter in and even then, God is in our midst, sharing every step of the way with us.
No matter what, God is in control. He loves us. He has a good plan for us to prosper. We can trust Him. He already worked everything out for our good and we will never ever be alone. Fear tells us to create our own plan and say, “Oh, It’s okay to do it, God knows your heart”. True, God does know your heart but don’t allow fear to take you there. Allow Him the opportunity to help us walk courageously through our fears, doubts and worry.
Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, help me to walk through my fears by facing them instead of being paralyzed by them. I want to trust Your heart with all that is within me. Give me courage today to take the first step and not worry about this matter. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
